Woman seriously injured in A26 collision near Crowborough


Police are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle collision on the A26 near Crowborough in which a woman was seriously injured.

The silver Ford Fiesta Titanium was northbound, just north of Boar’s Head, around 1.30pm on Wednesday (7th July) when it veered across the southbound carriageway and came to rest on its side on a bank.

A 77-year-old woman from Southampton, who was driving the car, was seriously injured and was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London, where she remained in a stable condition on Friday afternoon (July 9). An 80-year-old woman, also from Hampshire, who was a passenger, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury for treatment.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have been driving in the area at the time and saw the Fiesta or has dash cam footage is asked to report online or call 101 quoting serial 666 of 07/07.
