Wealden MP’s mobile surgery

Nus Ghani MP came to Crowborough on Tuesday as part of her mobile surgery tour around Wealden.

Travelling around in an ice cream van, Nus is speaking to members of the public who have questions, concerns or personal difficulties that she may be able to help with, as well as those who just want to say hello.  Her first stop was the railway station before moving onto Morrisons.  Crowborough Councillor Greg Rose Tweeted some photos:

Commenting on her reasons for going on the tour, Nus said:

I hold regular monthly surgeries in Uckfield, Crowborough and Hailsham, but as the MP for the whole of Wealden I wanted to make myself and my services accessible to Wealden’s rural communities in addition to its main towns. Making people aware that they can raise any issue with their MP is an important part of the job.

I promised at the election that I would be accountable and in my maiden speech in Parliament I pledged to follow the advice of Winnie the Pooh when he said that ‘You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.’  This is just one way of doing that.

Also on her tour on Tuesday and Wednesday she stop at Frant, Mayfield and Hartfield. If you have a concern, query or comment to make you can get in touch with Nus at nusrat.ghani.mp@parliament.uk to book an appointment.
