Wealden district has been placed at Number 19 in Halifax’s ‘Quality of Life’ survey, up from 43rd place last year and 99th position in 2013.
The bank’s annual survey of quality of life of rural areas in Great Britain, takes a wide range of factors into account, including residents’ health and life expectancy, crime rate, weather, employment, school results, broadband access, and personal wellbeing.
Rutland came out in top spot, but the top 50 rural places to live in Britain are dominated by the South East with fourteen districts found in this region. Neighbour Mid-Sussex is above Wealden in the rankings.
