Volunteers are frantically searching the Poundgate area of Crowborough for a greyhound which has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Rennie is a black 5yr old female greyhound recently retired from racing.  She’d only been in a home in Crowborough for seven days when she escaped out the front door on Thursday 12th February.  Rennie has been missing ever since.

RennieThere have been a couple of sightings of Rennie in the vicinity of the Crow and Gate pub, the last possible one being last Tuesday (17th).

Since Sunday, volunteers have been monitoring a trap and food which has been put down to entice her, sitting in a temporary shelter in all weathers for up to 2 hours at a time.

Sam Morris, who is one of the people co-ordinating the search, said:

There are many kind volunteers, some of whom are regularly travelling 15-20 miles a day and are out tirelessly searching for Rennie.  They won’t give up on her but are in desperate need of more sightings of her.

Walkers are being asked to keep an eye-out for Rennie and report any sightings.   Also local people can help by displaying posters around the town to spread the word.
