People in the 45-49 age group living in the Crowborough area are being advised to go to a bigger vaccination centre when offered an appointment for their Covid-19 jab.
Significant progress continues to be made to roll-out the Covid vaccination to people living in and around Crowborough.
To date, everyone in the first nine priority cohorts for the vaccination as set out by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, including those aged 50 and over, clinically extremely vulnerable, those with underlying health conditions and unpaid carers have been offered a vaccination and more than 28,000 people in our area have received their vaccine.
This week the Government announced the next stage of the vaccination campaign, and now anyone aged 45 to 49 is now eligible.
Currently the local vaccination service at Saxonbury House in Crowborough is focused on providing second dose appointments to everyone in those first nine priority cohorts, so that they receive both doses of the vaccine and the maximum protection.
Therefore, if you are aged 45 to 49 and want your vaccine in the coming days please visit the NHS Covid-19 Booking Site or call 119 and you can arrange an appointment at one of the larger vaccination centres.
A spokesperson for the Sussex Health and Care Partnership said:
The programme is currently in discussions with NHS England and Improvement and the Saxonbury House team about the arrangements for providing vaccinations for those under 50 more locally. We will keep you updated as this progresses, but we hope to bring some positive news regarding this imminently.
If you are waiting for your second dose, please be reassured you will be contacted at approximately 11 weeks to arrange your appointment.
