Sussex Police are again warning people about catalytic convertor thieves

Two catalytic converters have been targeted in the North Wealden area this week.

On Saturday lunchtime (12th) staff at the Crow & Gate on the A26 south of Crowborough were alerted when three men with scarves around their faces were spotted in the car park.

The thieves had used an angle grinder to remove the catalytic converter from a Honda parked outside at around 1.30pm.

A second incident occurred yesterday evening (Wednesday 16th) in Groombridge.

At around 7.45pm owners heard what sounded like drilling, and noticed their vehicle ‘jacked up’. Two people have made off when the owners went outside to confront them.

Tools have been left at the scene by the suspects are being forensically examined by Sussex Police.
