Local people recovering from a stroke will be trying to cycle the distance from London to Brighton at Crowborough Leisure Centre on Monday.
Members of the “Exercise After Stroke” class will be taking turns between 10am and 2pm to ride on one of two exercise bikes set-up in the café in the foyer between.
Every year there are approximately 150,000 strokes in the UK. That’s one stroke every three and a half minutes. Most people affected are over 65, but anyone can have a stroke, including children and even babies.
All money raised form the sponsored cycle will go to the stroke association, which helps stroke survivors in the local area.
In addition on Monday Freedom Leisure will be offering free blood pressure testing, and the Stroke Association will be on hand to offer help and advice.
