Crowborough and Eridge stations will be getting improvements to toilets and seating as part of Govia Thameslink Railway’s station improvement programme.

Stations on the Uckfield Line have been allocated ÂŁ30,000 each from the Passenger Benefit Fund.

Eridge Station is also getting a general refurbishment.

Network Rail are currently designing a lift for Eridge, funded by the Department for Transport. Subject to the Department’s approval and planning consent, installation is scheduled for next year.

Chris Fowler, Customer Service Director for Southern, said:

We are committed to making our services accessible to everyone, so having welcomed Network Rail’s completion of the new footbridge at Eridge we are delighted to see plans for the lift progressing.  These major investments for passengers are being complemented by our own network-wide, multi-million pound programme, with improvements for our Eridge customers including the new waiting room, more seating, and refurbished toilets.

You can see some of the improvements being made to the rail network and details of the plans for other stations on Southern’s website: www.southernrailway.com.
