Sussex Police’s Licensing Officer has recently been visiting licensed premises in Wealden to educate owners and staff about “proxy sales” of alcohol. This is the term used when a person commits an offence buying alcohol on behalf of children.
On Saturday 22nd June, the officer identified premises in Crowborough that was responsible for alcohol sales to a 14 year old. The sales assistant has been prosecuted.
