Update: An extraordinary town council meeting is being held on Tuesday 23rd July 2019.
Among the items to be discussed is the creation of 29 new car parking spaces in the Croft Road car park adjacent to the Bluebell Wood. Wealden District Council have now said they are unable to relocate the recycling point, therefore two additional trees (nine in total) will need to be removed.
The meeting is open to the public. Members of the public can ask the Chairman to speak at the start of the meeting.

A planning application has been submitted to enable the recycling point at Pine Grove in Crowborough to be re-located.
At present the recycling area is in the Croft Road car park. However consultation has been taking place between Crowborough Town Council and Wealden District Council to see how best to create additional parking spaces on the edge of the Bluebell Wood and in the “crescent” car park without the felling of too many trees.
The proposed changes are to partially mitigate the loss of the Mead House car park, where new flats and houses are currently being constructed by Abbey Homes.
It is proposed to construct an alternative compound and parking bay close to where the public toilet block once stood at the top of the alleyway.
As part of the application, Wealden District Council are also proposing to build some steps adjacent to the ramp which leads to the zebra crossing to Morrisons.
Members of the public have until 27th June to comment on the planning application on Wealden District Council’s website (Ref: WD/2019/1019/DC).
