Re-dedication of the Canadian War Memorial

Nine Canadian soldiers from the Lincoln and Welland Regiment lost their lives when a flying bomb landed on their camp on Crowborough Common.

A memorial on the edge of woods on the east side to the left of the 4th fairway marks the position.

Recently the Crowborough Branch of the Royal British Legion erected railings around the memorial.  A re-dedication ceremony was held on Sunday 6th September led by the Branch Chaplain The Reverend Alan Weaver with a reading by Deputy Mayor Councillor Quentin Burch.

  1. I understand that my large living room was used as a ballroom by the Canadian forces during the 2nd World War. There is lovely oak parquet floor here so,it would have been perfect – Flat 4, Brittany House,
