A helicopter was used by Sussex Police yesterday evening to search for the driver of a car in Crowborough who tried to avoid arrest.
Sussex Police attempted to carry out a stop check on a car in Crowborough Hill at around 7.35pm yesterday evening (Monday 23rd November), however the driver refused to stop.
The car was pursued by officers into Hilders Farm Close where the passenger, an 18-year-old man from Crowborough was arrested on suspicion of cannabis possession and theft of a motor vehicle.
The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Crowborough ran away from the scene. A thorough search of the area was conducted with help from a police helicopter. The suspect was found at around 9.30pm and arrested on suspicion of failing to stop when asked, driving without insurance, driving without a license and theft of a motor vehicle.
Both suspects have been bailed until 5th December.
