Police investigating a fatal collision at Argos Hill


Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision at Argos Hill, Mayfield at around 6.15pm yesterday (14th January).

Three vehicles were involved: a blue Toyota, a blue Skoda and a black Vauxhall.Police tape

The driver of one of the vehicles, a 65-year-old local woman, was taken to Kings College hospital in London where she sadly died.

One of the other drivers, a 17-year-old girl from Hailsham, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.  The third driver, a 24-year-old woman from Heathfield, was not injured.

The vehicles were recovered and the road fully re-opened just after half midnight.


Sergeant Sarah Potter said:

We would like to hear from any witnesses, particularly a woman who was seen driving a dark hatchback-style car and had to leave the scene before police arrived to collect her daughter.
