Comments can now be submitted to the Wealden District Council regarding a reserved matters application for a children’s bike track at Goldsmiths Recreation Ground in Crowborough.

Crowborough Town Council were given outline planning last September to build the facility in the triangle of grass behind the leisure centre adjacent to the play area and kiosk.
The details of the design (scale, appearance, layout and landscaping) including materials, drainage, landscaping and signage are subject to this later application.
The Planning Statement states:
The pump track has been designed in a figure-8 looping trail with rollers and banked turns which have 45° embankments, suitable for children who are learning to ride a bike. The track would be made from asphalt the composition of which is detailed on the submitted plans.
Acrylic road marking paint embedded with glass grain for grip will form the four safety lines on the track. The track will have a separate entrance and 1m high fence which mimics the design of the existing fence surrounding the play area. General purpose amenity turf will be used for the soft landscaping, this has been incorporated into the design in order to soften the built form and assimilate the pump track into the surrounding landscape.
