Yesterday evening (Tuesday 15th) at about 7.30pm, East Sussex Fire & Rescue were contacted regarding a rescue at Palesgate Lane in Crowborough.

A red Peugeot 106 crossing the ford was washed downstream. It is understood the two occupants were still in the car as it became submerged and passed under the footbridge.
The Crowborough’s water rescue team attended along with a crew from Lewes fire station.
Firefighters found a car stuck in moving water. They rescued one person who was still trapped in the vehicle. Crews left the scene at 8.45pm.
It is understood the car is still in the brook about 50 metres downstream.
