Pensioner rescued from crash


A pensioner had to be rescued from a car after it had crashed into a hedge at Lye Green near Crowborough.

On Friday afternoon, at about 2.30pm, Sussex Police were called to the B2188 at Lye Green, where a Skoda had crashed into a hedge.

An 84-year-old man driving the vehicle was not hurt, but was unable to get out, and so firefighters from Crowborough Fire Station were asked to free him from the vehicle.

The collision occurred at the junction with Ladies Mile and the road was closed to traffic either side of the scene while emergency services were in attendance.
