Police have arrested a Crowborough man on suspicion of Good Friday’s robbery


Sussex Police have arrested a 22-year old Crowborough man in connection with the knifepoint robbery at Poundfield Stores on Green Lane yesterday (Good Friday).

Police circulated a photograph taken by a quick-thinking witness who saw a man leaving the scene.

During the robbery, just after 11.30am, the shop keeper was threatened with a large knife, and was forced to hand-over money from the till.  During the afternoon, a helicopter from the National Police Air Service based at Redhill, assisted officers on the ground in conducting a search of the town.

Police have thanked the public for their assistance in helping to apprehend the suspect.
