Fifteen competitors from Crowborough were selected as part of the All England Taekwon-Do Association team at the World Cup in Slovenia.
The event boasted 1300 competitors from 52 nations and 123 Teams.
The team were supported by two coaches from Crowborough, Ethan Stopps and Thicome Monnier, as well as Team Manager and Crowborough instructor Master, Philip Lear.
The team had an amazing competition returning with two Golds, three Silvers and four Bronzes helping the AETA to place 12th overall on the medal table. The team consisted of competitors as young as 12 years old and also adults from the area who train at Crowborough Taekwon-Do based at VMA Fitness on the High Street.
In the individual events Nick Edmunds won Gold in sparring and Gold in power test (board breaking), Stanislava Korneva won Bronze in sparring, Ben Todd won Silver in pattern and Bronze in sparring, Dexter Williams won Bronze in pattern, Bronze in sparring, Silver in team pattern and Bronze in team sparring, Lucas Hartfield won Silver in team pattern and Bronze in team sparring, Oliver Wright won Silver in team pattern and Bronze in team sparring, Will Stacey won Silver in team pattern and Bronze in team sparring, Harry Gardner won Silver in team pattern and Bronze in team sparring, Charlotte Lowery won Silver in team pattern, Ruby King won Silver in team pattern, Elixir Biron-Monnier won Silver in team pattern and Eloise Jenkins won Silver in team pattern.

It’s been an incredible experience which has been made from some intense hard training over the last 4 months, support from the schools of the kids and also our local sponsors Servomex, Spectris Foundation, ACE, TCS Ltd, Hacienda Horses, FFT and VMA Fitness Crowborough. The competitors have excelled in the way they applied themselves at the event and deserve the accolades they have earned.
