Joy of Singing workshops All Saints Church Crowborough 14 may 2017Some 200 people attended the day with evening performances from a diverse collection of local choirs including, In Choir, Singing for Fun, The Langham Singers, Hartfield Singers and the Crowborough Choral Society.

Mark Beesley, the festival’s music director said:

I was delighted with the way the day went, as it succeeded in its aim of getting people ‘into’ singing, as a display of the singing activities in the area .It was also an opportunity for the different choirs to meet each other in an informal context and to sing together. It truly was a joyous day which I hope will inspire and enthuse those who attended to take their singing on to the next stage.

The festival still has tickets for the Conan Doyle illustrated talk by well known author Andrew Lycett which takes place at the Community centre on Thursday 18th May.

Local resident Bertie Pearce will be bringing his own special brand of talk, magic and illusion to the Palace of Illusions also taking place at the Community Centre on Friday 26th May.

The festival draws to a close on Saturday 27th May with a great evening’s entertainment in the shape of the SwingShift Band – an 18 piece orchestra playing all the big band classics – sit back and enjoy the music and vocalist or trip the light fantastic on the dance floor.

Tickets are available from the festival website www.crowboroughcommunityfestival.org or from the Community Centre Box Office.
