Crowborough home care company boss declares that caring is a ‘job of the future’, urging people to come onboard as she pledges to build an army carers to provide support in the local community.

Leila Fatehi of Home Instead currently has 10 vacancies at her care company which has clients across Crowborough and the surrounding areas.

Leila says that jobs in her sector are future-proof. With an ageing population, home care, has seen a huge increase in demand, so much so that there is a national shortage of caregivers.

East Sussex has one of the oldest populations in the England.  The over 65s now represent a quarter of the population and are projected to make up
nearly a third of all people by 2031. An East Sussex County Council report estimated by 2035, over 90,000 people in the county will need help with at least one domestic task.

There are a range of opportunities to progress within our home care business. Being a caregiver is a job for life with many opportunities to learn new skills and specialisms such as dementia and awareness training.

Our caregivers don’t just stop at providing care. They continue to develop their skills and career to go on to support their colleagues and the business to deliver the very best levels of care to our client.
