Fire crews from Crowborough and Heathfield used hydraulic equipment to cut free the driver after a collision early this morning on the A267 near Five Ashes.
Emergency services were called at 5.45am to an overturned vehicles between Five Ashes and Mayfield.
The A267 was blocked for about an hour whilst firefighters released the person from his vehicle, with traffic diverting to the A26.
The man in his 50s was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being taken by ambulance to Pembury Hospital for suspected spinal injuries.
