Crews from Uckfield and Crowborough animal rescue unit have been praised for rescuing two cows in trouble.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called by an RSPCA Inspector on Sunday (30th August) after the heifers became stuck in deep mud near the Sussex village of Chiddingly.
The crews used floating platforms to access the cows before lifting them with a winch. The rescue operation took around two hours.
It’s understood the transmission on one of the vehicles broke during the rescue.
Chief Fire Officer Dawn Whittaker also took to Twitter to praise the crews:
