Fire crews attend blaze at derelict property in Crowborough


East Sussex Fire & Rescue were called at about 9.20pm last night (Monday 13th). Crews from Crowborough, Mayfield, Wadhurst, Uckfield and Lewes first attended the fire at a derelict property on Old Lane Crowborough.

At about 11pm firefighters were joined on scene by Hailsham and Forest Row crews. Sussex Police closed nearby roads. No persons have been injured.

At about midnight firefighters were using three 1 in 7 foam jets and two 45mm jets to extinguish the fire. ESFRS had requested the attendance of UK Power Networks and a Building Inspector, to check the structural integrity of the building.
