An Act of Remembrance will be held at the Crowborough War Memorial, Chapel Green.
Assemble at 10.45am.
A maroon will be fired at 11am precisely to mark the commencement two minutes silence – a second maroon will signify the end of the period of remembrance.
A group of Beacon Academy students and staff will be in attendance; the students will read the John McCrae poem In Flanders Fields.
Armistice Day is commemorated every year on 11th November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I, which took effect at eleven o’clock in the morning.
