Driver from Crowborough involved in a collision in which a pedestrian was killed


A woman pedestrian who died after being in collision with an Audi car on the A27 between Arundel and Angmering on Friday evening (11th March) has been named.

She was Anna Iles, 66, of Ashurst Way, East Preston.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Woodman Arms at Hammerpot at 7.12pm.  Sadly Mrs Iles was declared dead at the scene.  The driver of the Audi, a 42-year-old man from Crowborough, was uninjured.

The westbound carriageway remained closed until the early hours of Saturday morning while the collision was investigated.
