24 hour Drawathon in aid of Kit Wilson Trust

An award-winning artist who stayed-up all night to complete a sponsored drawathon has raised over £500 for the Kit Wilson Trust.

Katharine Jennings from Rotherfield completed a video blog as she drew five pets that had been lost or stolen.  On her Facebook page she described how she fought to keep her eyes open:

I did it!  I stayed awake and drew for a solid 24 hours to raise funds for an amazing charity and awareness for the missing dogs that I drew.

Whilst doing the drawathon, I had one moment of complete exhaustion, but it was those dogs and their owners that got me through.  I knew how important it was to them, which was motivation enough.

drawathonThe owner of one of the pets, Rafiki a Springer Spaniel, that went missing from Esher in August 2015, commented after Katherine completed her challenge on Wednesday:

Absolutely beautiful, thank-you for developing your amazing talent and using it for such a worthwhile cause.  Raf’s picture will have pride of place in our home and hearts as does he.  I’m sure you’ll sleep very well tonight.

You can see more details of the all dogs on her facebook page www.facebook.com/katjenningsartist as well as watch the videos Katharine recorded throughout the 24-hour period.

If you want to see her work, Katharine will be at the Vintage and Craft Market at Rotherfield Village Hall on Saturday 16th April.
