Starting next week there will be overnight road closures on the B2100 at the bottom of Crowborough Hill to repair broken and blocked pipes.
East Sussex Highways have said by carrying out this work they hope to prevent the drainage system becoming overwhelmed during heavy rain and prevent erosion of the road surface.
During the following dates the road will be closed between 8pm and 4am between Victoria Road and Coller Mews:
Monday 31st October to Friday 11th November – This section of Crowborough Hill will be closed each night (no weekend working).
Monday 5th December to Saturday 10th December – This section of Crowborough Hill will be closed each night.
For seven weeks from Monday 31st October 31 and Friday 16th December there will be temporary traffic lights in operation during the daytime.
Overnight closures will help to minimise disruption on this busy road and temporary lights will removed during the day whenever possible. We would ask the public to bear with us while we carry out this essential work.

East Sussex Highways have said resurfacing work on Crowborough Hill, and further work on the drainage system is due to take place in spring next year.
You can leave feedback via their website Crowborough Hill Drainage Works (eastsussexhighways.com).
Walshes Rd also has roadworks starting on the same date, just to add to the fun. This would be the main alternative route for traffic normally using Crowborough Hill, especially HGVs and industrial estate traffic. Walshes Road will be open, but allow for delays.
