Hospital Fête organisers appeal for new volunteers

Volunteers are needed to strengthen the team responsible for putting on Crowborough Hospital Fête – one of the biggest events in the town’s social calendar and an important fund-raiser for the community hospital.

Crowborough Hospital FeteThis year’s event takes place as usual in the hospital grounds on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Organiser Ricky Booth said:

We have been blessed with an enthusiastic band of helpers for many years but, inevitably, people are not getting any younger while others have changing commitments or have moved from the area.  Now we find we need some extra help in specific areas both on the day of the fête and for activities leading up to the big day.

The Collectables and Clothes stalls are two of the fête’s biggest fund-raisers and the organiser needs help sorting contributions on Friday afternoons from the beginning of July.  If you can help, please call Evelyn on 01892 661667 or email her at:

Raffle ticket sales both on the day of the fête and before event on special days arranged with the town’s supermarkets also make a big contribution to funds.  If you can help to sell tickets for an hour or two on the main sales day, Saturday 20th August, and at Morrisons on Wednesday 10th, Thursday 11th and Sunday 14th August, please contact Dee on 07591197174.  Email:

Finally, on the day itself – 29th August – the organisers need help setting up the stalls between 10am and 2pm and clearing them away afterwards from 5pm.  If you can help, please contact Ricky (01892 652151, fê
