Crowborough Community Festival has been awarded a Big Lottery grant of £10,000 towards its costs.
Festival Chairman, Denis Hart said:
The award is fantastic news and a ringing endorsement for our festival programme, celebrating as it does Crowborough’s wonderful location On Top of The Weald and the town’s connections with Conan Doyle. The award, together with the support of Crowborough Town Council and local businesses secures the financial viability of the festival and means that many of the planned events will be free, making it a truly community event.
As a not-for-profit local organisation, the Crowborough Community festival’s main objective is to cover the costs of venues and performance fees and at the same time raise money for local charities.
