Crowborough girl gains place at West End Kids

The Head Girl at Jewel Performing Arts, Ella Hughes, recently auditioned and successfully gained a place at London’s elite West End Kids company.

Ella, who is 14 years old, and lives on Southridge Rise in Crowborough, said:

My audition for West End Kids was an amazing experience and my dream!  I loved learning the dance and the song and showing what I can do, when I found out that I got in I was so excited!  It almost didn’t feel real as I never thought I would be able to get in but I worked my very hardest with my dance teachers.

West End Kids operate a challenging musical theatre training program and provides hands-on performance experience to talented singers and dancers.  The song and dance troupe regularly performs alongside the casts of professional West End shows.

Ella’s parents Kirsty & Matt said:

We are absolutely thrilled for Ella, she’s worked so hard to be where she is and we are so proud of her.

Ella will be continuing her classes and grades with Jewel Performing Arts plus weekly training with West End Kids.  Gemma and Jade, Jewel’s Principals, said:

Ella began classes at Jewel just five years ago and she has been a joy to teach.  Ella trains extremely hard in class, practices at home and is always looking for ways to improve.  This break is so well deserved, we couldn’t be more proud of our Head Girl.

Jewel Performing Arts is a musical theatre school established in 2010.  They run classes in all dance genres, musical theatre and vocals, at venues in and around Crowborough.   As well as weekly classes for both children (aged 2+) and adults, they also hold themed workshops in school holidays and are available for birthday parties on Sundays.
