Passing the baton … after 50 years

On Saturday (8th April) Crowborough Choral Society celebrated its 50th anniversary under the inspiring leadership of Colin Moore.

Mark Beesley and Colin Moore

The choir, joined by singers from their partner choir in Rellingen, Germany, the Sussex Sinfonia and professional soloists, performed Bach’s St John Passion to a packed church at All Saints in Crowborough.

The concert was followed by a large party for Colin Moore who is now retiring, attended by many of his friends from the local area and Rellingen, plus members of his family.

Although the Choral Society is sad that Colin is leaving after an incredible fifty years, they are very pleased to welcome Mark Beesley as new leader and are looking forward to performing a concert of Monteverdi’s music on 24th June at St Denys Church in Rotherfield.
