Crowborough Carnival & Bonfire Society are looking for local charities and organisations that would like to benefit from the street collection on carnival day.
This September £3,068 was raised in the bucket collection, up slightly on the previous year. The following beneficiaries will each receive £767:
- Crowborough Community First Responders – money will be used towards kitting-out new volunteers with the equipment they need, at a cost of £2,200 each;
- Crowborough Foodbank – they are desperately trying to re-locate their premises;
- Crowborough Locomotive Society – financial help towards the extension of the miniature railway at Goldsmiths; and
- Wealdlink Community Bus – money toward the operating costs of providing a minibus service to older people and the less mobile of Crowborough.
Charities and community groups wanting to benefit in 2018 should email Secretary Mrs Nicola Sutton nickie.cbcs@btinternet.com to put forward their case. Organisations should explain how the funds would be used, what monies they have raised towards the project themselves, what other organisations / companies are supporting the project, and give the total cost of the project.
The closing date for applicants is 16th January 2018. A decision will be made at the Society’s Annual General Meeting.
Four excellent and deserving beneficiaries. As a result of this report, and reading their websites from your links, I’ll be donating to at least one of them. Thank you, Stephan.
