New Music Brighton will present a concert of music by long-time Crowborough resident Malcolm Lipkin who died last year at the age of 85.

Although Malcolm Lipkin was a well known and eminent figure in English classical music from the 1950s, performances during the last 30 years or so of his life were rare, even though he continued to compose.  The programme will include piano and instrumental works written from the 1990s onwards and will be performed by members of New Music Brighton.

Malcolm Lipkin was a member of New Music Brighton, the collective of Sussex composers, from its foundation in 1994 until his death.

The concert will be on Saturday 6th October at 3pm in St. Anne’s Church, Lewes.

Tickets are ÂŁ10 (ÂŁ6 concessions, and children under 16 free), available at the door or online at www.newmusicbrighton.co.uk.
