Wealden District Council is supporting Real Nappy Week by offering free nappy trial kits to parents in the District.real-nappy

The theme of this year’s Real Nappy Week is Changing the world, one nappy at a time! and its aim is to encourage a younger generation to try out real nappies.

The free Nappy Trial Kits contain a wide range of nappies and accessories and are available to borrow for four weeks.  The trial gives you the chance to test a selection of the latest nappies so you can find the best one to suit your baby, lifestyle and budget in the comfort of your own home.  Free advice is available throughout the trial.

Why change to using real nappies?

Save money…

By the time your baby is potty trained, you will have changed as many as 4,000 – 5,000 nappies! This adds up to a lot of money. Go Real (the national Real Nappy information service) estimates that, depending on your personal nappy choices, you could save anywhere from £150 – £1,000 and potentially more as real nappies can be used on subsequent children.

Better for the Environment…

There are 813,000 babies born in England and Wales each year.   The majority will use disposable nappies.  This means a staggering 3 billion nappies are being used – which translates into over 355,000 tonnes of waste and an annual disposal cost to local authorities and tax payers of £32 million.

Washable nappies can also save up to 40% carbon emissions compared to disposables.  This carbon saving is greatest when real nappies are washed in full loads at no more than 60oC, line dried and reused on a second child.

Stylish, Comfortable, Modern…

Modern real nappies are stylish, fashionable and come in a range of designs, materials, sizes and colours designed to suit your baby and your pocket. They fasten easily with poppers or Velcro and can help with early potty training.

Why not try Real Nappies for FREE.
