At last week’s planning committee the application for up to 119 homes in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) adjacent to Goldsmiths Rec was refused.
£6 million was collected from developers in CIL money to help fund infrastructure improvements in Wealden. Crowborough Town Council received £124,000.
A request to extend the 30 miles limit along the A26 Eridge Road past Goldsmiths has been dismissed by the East Sussex Highways.
In light of the Wealden Local Plan being declared “unsound”, a vote of no confidence in the Portfolio Holder and Wealden District Council’s Planning Department was taken.
