Crowborough Town Council is currently looking for a contractor with experience of timber-framed structures to construct a contemplation building at their new burial ground on London Road.
Planning permission for the site was granted in 2013, and over the last few year the Summersales Burial Ground has been taking shape on farm land adjacent to the Forest Fold Baptist Church. By the end of the project it is expected over £900,000 will be spent in total.
The next stage in the process is to build a non-denominational contemplation building. The building will be built out of green oak at the end of a tree-lined path which stretches away from the entrance gate.
The works have been fully detailed by Cemetery Development Services which has also been appointed by the Town Council to administer the building contract.
Money collected from developers to pay for infrastructure (Community Infrastructure Levy) will be used to fund the building’s construction.
Companies wanting to tender for the work must submit the relevant documents to the Town Council by noon on Monday 24th May 2021.
Detailed technical drawing and specifications can be found on the contracts finder website.
