Are you worried about how you are going to heat your home in winter? Having trouble paying your energy bills? Think you might be entitled to some help with energy efficiency measures but don’t know where to turn?
Wealden Citizens Advice is here to help. There will be a pop up energy advice desk at Waitrose supermarket in Crowborough on Friday (26th January) between 10am and 1pm.
Starting today, Big Energy Saving Week is a nationwide campaign which helps households lower their annual spend on energy.
As part of the campaign, Citizens Advice is hosting events across the country offering face-to-face advice to people with concerns about their energy bills, helping share information about switching and about how the Energy Switch Guarantee makes the process simple and easy.
Last winter Wealden Citizens Advice helped 230 people switch supplier or get a better tariff at an average saving of £205 a year – that’s over £47,000.
Figures from Ofgem, the Government regulator for the industry, have revealed more than a third of all households – failed to change gas or electricity provider in the last six years, thereby missing out savings of hundreds of pounds a year.
Wealden Citizens Advice can also provide information and advice on:
- the benefits you might be entitled to, especially if anyone in the household is living with a long term health condition or disability
- how to manage when you are in arrears on your energy bills
- resolving disputes with your energy supplier
- how you can access information and support with energy efficient measures.
An online price comparison tool from Citizens Advice can help bill payers find a cheaper supplier. The comparison tool is completely impartial and includes quotes from all energy suppliers, offering a quick and easy way to find the best deals.
