Teaching and support staff at Beacon Academy have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to the education and wellbeing of students at the Sussex Teacher of the Year Awards.

- Wealden Wellbeing Team of the Year Award
- Wealden Newly Qualified Teacher of the Year Award: Aya Rowe
Staff at Beacon Academy were presented with two Wealden area awards and one overall Award at the event held at the Jurys Inn Hotel in Brighton on Thursday.
Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages, Mrs Aya Rowe was presented with the Wealden Newly Qualified Teacher of the Year Award. Assistant Head of Year 7, Miss Ashleigh McCormack, Assistant Head of Years 12 and 13, Mr Gary Williams, Head of Year 12, Mr Charles Howarth and Behaviour, Safeguarding and Welfare Manager, Mrs Jane Prowse were presented with the Wealden Wellbeing Team of the Year Award on behalf of the school’s Student Support Team for Years 7 – 13.
