A local garden landscaping company has been crowned the supreme winner at an awards ceremony celebrating dream gardens that can be created in a smaller space.
Slate Grey Garden Design & Build, based in Crowborough, not only won the special feature category at the Pro Landscaper small project BIG IMPACT awards, but were also judged Supreme Winners after achieving the highest score across the seven categories.
The judges said the terrace was an “amazing transformation” providing a “fabulous relationship” to its setting. The clients praised the company’s care, expertise and professionalism and said it would recommend Slate Grey without hesitation.
The owners of Beechmont Hall in Sevenoaks wanted to transform an unloved space. Slate Grey created a contemporary lower terrace, existing walls were faced with Gabion cages filled with locally sourced Kentish ragstone, areas were then topped with hard decking creating access and seating around the wood fired hot tub. Horsham stone was used to create single piece step treads leading from the terrace above. The hard landscaping was complemented with a Mediterranean planting palette.
Slate Grey Design collaborated with esteemed local designer Victoria Chesterfield who was thrilled with the outcome.
Managing Director Richard Ayles said:
It is a great honour to be recognised in this way by a panel of the industry’s leading experts. Both awards really are testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team.
Now in its second year, the Pro Landscaper small project BIG IMPACT awards were held in the Gold Cup Suite at Sandown Park Racecourse on Tuesday 19th November.
