A 58-year old man from Crowborough was arrested at East Croydon railway station on Tuesday morning following an assault on a fellow passenger.
The man was stopped at the ticket barrier and other passengers apparently helped stop the alleged assailant getting away until Police Officers arrived:
New experience for me this morning being the first caller to 999 for an assault at East Croydon. People banded together to stop the attacker getting away and lots of people helped the victim. Scary things happen but so heartening to see so much goodness from strangers 💕
