Two additional housing developments are on the cards to the south of Crowborough.
The first is being called “Brook View”. The site is between Luxford Road and Mount Pleasant. It is for 125 homes and is Phase 2 of the development granted planning permission in August 2018. Access will be from the proposed new roundabout on Walshes Road. Catesby Estates will be giving a presentation to the Town Council’s Planning & Development Committee about the development on Monday (17th February) at 7.30pm.
The second development is for 163 homes at Orchid Riding Stables off Walshes Road. Wates Developments have asked the planning authority for a Screening Opinion (Ref: WD/2020/6502/SO), this is the process to determine if there are any environmental impacts of a proposed project.
In recent years up to 339 dwellings have already been granted planning permission on land off Walshes Road:
- Nightingales 160 dwellings at Walsh Manor Farm (WD/2014/1565/MEA).
- Redevelopment of Recycling Centre off Nightingales – 6 houses granted on appeal (WD/2018/0148/F). Application pending to increase this to 8 (WD/2019/2640/F).
- Outline planning permission for up to 100 dwellings north of Walshes Road (WD/2017/0615/MAO). Developer Catesby is saying the number of homes that will be built is 85.
- 71 dwellings at land adjacent to Walsh Manor Farm (WD/2019/0641/MAO) – granted outline planning permission just last week.
