An extra 20,000 copies of Wealden Do Sussex have been printed in 2016 to help build in the District’s reputation as a day trip destination.

The Guide highlights the many tourist sites, benefits, events and days out in Wealden.  A total of 120,000 Guides have been printed this year for distribution at tourist information points in the District and across the South East.  The www.wealdendo-sussex.co.uk website received 1.5 million hits in 2015.

Councillor Roy Galley, Cabinet member for Economic Development, said tourism was responsible for the equivalent of 5,000 full time jobs in Wealden.

There are so many wonderful places to visit in Wealden, literally something for everyone.  Wealden Do the Best Attractions brings them all together for the many visitors we have to the District as well as for those who live here and might be overlooking a gem on their doorstep.

With tourism expenditure supporting over 15% of jobs in Wealden, the attractions guide is another fantastic example of how the Council is supporting local businesses from the sector.  The guide is being taken to domestic and overseas exhibitions and is a great way of encouraging people to spend time and money in our wonderful part of the country.
