Work has begun on the refurbishment this morning (Tuesday 1st). The pub will be part of Stonegate’s Classic Inn portfolio. Customers will be able to have drink with family and friends or sit down for a meal. These venues are described on their website as ‘known for their traditional pub values and modern, stylish environments – for that more refined dining experience’.
The work should be completed by the end of the month with the pub re-opening on Friday 2nd October. It has been reported elsewhere that the refurb is costing £500,000.
Stonegate have applied for minor changes to the existing licence including:

It was previously owned by Enterprise Inns and when it was put on the market it was rumoured that Morrisons were intending to open a M Local store there, as the supermarket chain were advertising for employeees.
