Volunteers wanted to help with survey of rail commuters

Wealden Bus Alliance in conjunction with Sussex Community Rail Partnership are planning to conduct a survey of rail commuters, to see if there is demand for a commuter bus service.

parking1They are looking for volunteers prepared to hand-out leaflets and speak to rail passengers at stations on early mornings in May.

The online survey, funded by Wealden District Council, is a first step to gather information about potential solutions to alleviate on-street parking problems around the railway stations at Buxted, Uckfield and Crowborough.

Additional volunteers are wanted, who are available from 6 to 8 am on weekday mornings starting 3rd May for three weeks.   A free breakfast at the Whistle Stop Café will be provided.

A volunteer co-ordinator has been appointed and he will organise a rota and liaise with the volunteers.  Volunteers who are prepared to work one or more days, are asked to contact Ian Smith on 07985 783682 or e-mail ianbsmith@yahoo.com.   Please make it clear which station and the dates you are available to help.
