Shirley Lang has won a tablet computer in a survey of the online needs of the residents of Wealden’s Retirement Living Courts carried out by Wealden District Council.
Shirley, who is 81 and lives at Wealden’s Rumsey Court, is keen to learn more about using computers and to get online and had been hoping to get a tablet for Christmas. Winning the draw in the Council’s survey has meant Christmas this year has come a few days early!
She was presented with her new tablet computer by Councillor Graham Wells, Wealden Cabinet member for Housing and Benefits on Monday.
An increasing number of public services are available online, providing the benefit of access to help 24 hours a day wherever you live. As a result of the survey, Wealden District Council will be providing IT training sessions at a number of its retirement living courts in the new year.
