Update: Planning permission was granted for this development at the committee meeting on 6th April 2017.
A planning application has been submitted for eight apartments and 26 homes on the old council depot off Forest Dene.
Following outline approval being granted in May 2016, the latest application puts the ‘flesh on the bones’. The Design and Access Statement gives detailed information about the appearance of the buildings, the layout and access around the site.
It is proposed that a third of the houses/appartments will be available for either rent or shared ownership for families in the local area, with the others sold on the open market. There will be 59 designated car parking spaces in total (each house or apartment getting either one or two bays).
A public consultation event was held on 12th October 2016 at the Jarvis Brook Social Club attended by approximatley 50-60 people. At a later date the design consultants and the Council’s Housing Development Officer attended the AGM of the Jarvis Brook Residents Association.
