Horder Centre team enter dragon boat race

A 16-strong team from the Horder Centre in Crowborough is fired up for success in this year’s Dragon Boat Festival at Bewl Water in September.

Dragon-Boat-Race-Horder-CenStaff from The Horder Centre, which is run by the charity Horder Healthcare, have set themselves a target of raising £3,000 that will go towards completing the Centre’s redevelopment programme.

Work that is still to be carried out as part of the programme includes the completion of six new ensuite patient bedrooms, the construction of a new canopy to shelter patients from the elements when they are picked up and the addition of an MRI scanning facility into the main building.

The team, called “Joint Effort”, comprises physiotherapists, clinical staff, medical secretaries and fundraisers.  They are already in training for the big day when the dragon boat rowers will compete in three races with the aim of qualifying for the final race.

Neal Fuller, Fundraising and PR Assistant for Horder Healthcare, said:

We are raring, or should I say, roaring to go! We are all working our socks off so we stand a chance of winning and making as much money as possible for Horder Healthcare.

Anyone who would like to donate to “Joint Effort” can visit the team’s justgiving page.
