Crowborough 10km road race takes place this Sunday (3rd December).

The race attracts up around 500 runners from all over Sussex and beyond.   Its one of Sussex’s most popular and friendly 10K Sussex Grand Prix road races.

Starting at Beacon Academy at 10am, competitors run down Crowborough Hill before crossing the ford at the bottom of Palesgate Lane and climbing up the hill.  Those taking part in the 10k have to take on the route twice.

The race is hosted by Crowborough Runners.  The Club was founded back in 1982 when a group of enthusiastic athletes, having watched the first London Marathon back, thought it was time the running scene hit the roads of Crowborough.  The Club has come along way since then and is now thriving with adult, junior and beginner training sessions and activities.  The Club say they can get you up to a 5K within 10 weeks.

Entries are £14 / £12 attached (official UKA running club) – closing date 30th November for postal entries.

The 5K Fun Run is £8 in advance.

Online entries can be made here (booking fee).

Green Lane and Palesgate Lane will be closed from 10am for around an hour or so.
