Postal Vote Crowborough Sorting OfficeCharles Lant, Wealden’s Returning Officer said

The EU referendum takes place on 23 June.  If you are out the country or on holiday on 23 June, and have not already contacted our Elections Service about your preference for a Postal Vote, you have until Wednesday 8 June to do so.

When you receive your Postal Vote pack,  please read the instructions carefully, complete the ballot paper and post it back to us as soon as possible.  We are expecting a high number of postal votes for the EU Referendum.  A prompt return will help us process them.  Don’t leave your postal vote unopened on the mantel piece.

EU-ReferendumTo apply for a postal vote, please contact Wealden’s Election Service on elections@wealden.gov.uk or telephone 01892 602417.  (If you live outside the Wealden district click to find your local electoral registration office.)

The closing date for applications to go on the Electoral Register in order to take part in the European Union referendum is Tuesday 7th June.  If you are already on Wealden Electoral Register, you do NOT need to reapply to take part in the Referendum.

The Council has sent out postal voting packs to some 19,000 electors who have already registered a preference for a postal vote in elections.  Postal packs are being sent to new applicants on 14th June.

Returning Office Charles Lant added:

Please take the time to read the instructions with the postal vote carefully.

There will be 92 Polling Stations open in Wealden from 7am until 10pm on Thursday 23rd June.
