A26 blocked for three hours following a collision involving a car and a van

The A26 South of Crowborough was blocked during yesterday morning’s rush hour due to a road traffic collision.

At 6.11am on Wednesday 22nd November, emergency services were called to a crash between a car driven by a 19-year-old man and a van driven by a 32-year-old local man, on the A26 Uckfield Road, adjacent to Crowborough Beacon Golf Course.

The car driver sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to Pembury Hospital.  His passenger, another young man, sustained minor injuries and the driver of the van was unhurt.

The road remained closed in both directions until just after 9am.
